About BNI

BNI stands for “Business Network International”. Dr. Ivan R. Misner created BNI to provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment for men and women to further their business through word of mouth marketing. There are thousands of BNI chapters in the UK, Europe, and the world. This is a twenty year old professional organisation that allows only one person from each profession to be represented in a BNI chapter.

Successful networking requires a high level of commitment and BNI is built on the premise that what goes around, comes around. People that GIVE business referrals, GET business referrals! Membership of a BNI chapter is like having dozens of sales people working for you.

How does BNI West One work?

Our group is one of these chapters. We meet on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 am. Each member provides a “60 second commercial” about their business, and one member does an extended presentation of about 10 minutes.

Members of our chapter will carry a supply of your business cards around with them. When they meet someone who could benefit from your products or services they pass on your card with a recommendation to use you. It is as simple as that! It’s simple because it’s based on the proven concept of “Givers Gain”. If I give you business, you’ll want to give me business, and we will both benefit as a result.

To maximise the potential of membership, BNI chapters adhere to the following guidelines.

  • Our structured weekly meetings (every Friday) start promptly at 7am and finish by 8.30am.
  • Only one person from each trade or profession is permitted to join the chapter.
  • Members represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.
  • As attendance is critical members are only allowed three absences in every six months.
  • However, substitution is encouraged where a member is unable to attend.
  • The aim of BNI members is to bring bona-fide leads and visitors to their chapter.
  • Applications for membership will be reviewed by the membership committee and applicants will be notified of the outcome prior to the next meeting.

Membership dues can be paid by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard, Delta or Switch. Register your interest to visit our chapter by filling in the form on the right.
